Give Life to Your Rooms with Texture
                         DC 3 Continued

Furniture and Window Coverings
The next layer of texture has huge impact.  Furniture and window coverings.  The fabric on the sofa and chairs. Is it a smooth fabric with a pattern?  Or is it a heavy woven twill or soft channel? Will the texture of rattan or leather give the room the look you want?  It is all texture.

Window coverings.  Will they be the star?  Or will the blinds disappear into the walls (visually).  Maybe a fabric valance swag to soften (texture).  As you layer on, you may have beaded tie backs for the drape panels on each side of the window.  Maybe you want a great plaid or bold floral chintz window treatment.  Again layer on the texture.

Home Decorating Accents and Accessories
The next layer of texture is where you have the most control when decorating and to change things easily after the room is decorated.  The accents, accessories.  Your accent picture, area rug, your collection of Italian pottery pieces, lamps, tapestry or quilted wall hanging.....

When you step back and access your decorated room, you can easily add here and take away there.  If the room feels chaotic (I think that is called clutter) start taking things away one layer at a time just as you applied it until you get the look you want.
